What She Wants

TEN YEARS 1973-1983

Since the first What She Wants came out in May of 1973, we have published over 100 issues. WSW has a life of its own-a rich composite of staff and contributors reporting on, analyzing, and impacting the growth and changes within the women's liberation movement.

We took this opportunity to reprint selections from this decade of collected history. We're proud of the many milestones we have witnessed both in the greater women's movement and in our local communities. We're also proud of our own stamina and commitment as a voice of this movement.

In choosing selections, we attempted to show the continuity and perseverance of particular feminist ▾ issues and actions (abortion rights and the ERA in particular) as well as the diversity of groups and activities throughout this decade. We hope you will find this journey as enlightening to read as it was to produce.

The full collection of WSW is on file at the Feminist Lending Library. We'll continue to excerpt articles. from the "Best of What She Wants" throughout this eleventh year of our existence.
